This small photographic book celebrates the visual charm of the doors and passageways in Eisenstadt, Austria. The color photographs are accompanied by commentary in both German and English text that compliments and explains why the photographer selected the image. The book was created during a tend day visit int he summmer of 2012 when the author/photographer went to Eisenstadt to attend the Classical Music Festival featuring the compositions of Joseph Haydn (1732-1809). Haydn lived in Eisenstadt for many years under the protection of the Esterhazy family, where he composed many of his most famous works and his tomb is there.The featured work of the festival was Haydn's majestic Creation, performed by a exquisite musicians in the orchestra and chorus along with, for the first time, dancers on stage performing with the orchestra and chorus. The images in the book were discovered by the photographer/author on his many delightful walks around the charming small city. |
