The fifty poems and one short story in this book were written by Helene Coogan in the 1930s.  This book provides new insights into this author, who many years later (writing under her married name, Helene C. Phelan) wrote a series of well regarded books of history focused on the Southern Tier of New York State. Included in the book are some biographical notes and a number of early photographs of the author.
